Called 'The American Dream,' someone restored the world's longest automobile back to its former glory.

Get ready for a long ride! The world's longest automobile, 'The American Dream' car is here. The limo, which can accommodate 75 people, has more legroom than some buses. It has six Cadillac Eldorados and 26 wheels.

According to Guinness World Records, the car was first built in 1986 by car customizer Jay Ohrberg in Burbank, California. The limo had a set of V8 engines in the front and rear and was rolling on 26 wheels at the time. Ohrberg, the customizer, later increased the size of the 69-foot car to 100 feet, creating the world's most magnificent limo car. On March 1, 2022, Manning set a new World Record. Following the restoration, the super limo rolled in at 100 feet and 1.50 inches. By a minor fraction, it has broken its own Guinness World Record for being the world's longest car.

What Makes The World's Longest Automobile So Unique?

The record-breaking vehicle, based on the 1976 Cadillac Eldorado limo, can be set in motion from both sides. The lengthy, colossal-sized luxury limo can be formally customized for any type of party or design, says Manning in the above video. Moreover, the limo has a huge waterbed, a pool house with a diving board, a jacuzzi tub, a bathtub, a mini-golf area, and a helipad too. There are photos of this vehicle with the helicopter in the past, but no actual evidence of the helicopter landing on it. So we're going to do it today, says Manning in the video posted. Accompanied by a real helicopter landing on the platform behind the limousine.

Bringing It Back To Its Former Glory

The American Dream was regularly rented and appeared in many films during its heyday. However, people lost interest in the car as a result of its high maintenance costs and parking challenges, and it rusted. Amidst its uniqueness, the car was previously stranded in a warehouse with graffiti, flat tires, and a damaged windshield. Fortunately, Michael Manning, an auto aficionado, opted to refurbish the vehicle and purchased it on eBay

Manning could not afford to buy it, according to Guinness World Records. But he persuaded the firm selling it to let him move it to New York for restoration at his Autoseum Automotive Teaching Museum. But Manning ended up relisting the limo on eBay because the Nassau County contract was eventually canceled.

Luckily, the proprietor of the Dezerland Park Car Museum and Tourist Attractions in Orlando, Florida, Michael Dezer, saw the listing on eBay and bought the limo and had it repaired there. The former owner, Manning, agreed to assist with the reconstruction. After three years of hard work, they resurrected the American Dream to its former glory after 36 years.

According to Guinness World Records. The restoration cost $250,000 in shipping, materials, and labor, and took three years to complete. But, instead of returning to the road, The American Dream became part of the Dezerland Park Car Museum's collection.
