Keep your bathroom mirror from fogging up with this common household product Our mission is simple

We all know car wax protects your car from daily wear and tear, but did you know that it can also prevent your bathroom mirror from fogging up after a hot shower? Yep, that’s right, you can ditch the fancy glass cleaners because car wax is apparently all you need — and there’s a good chance you already have some laying around in your garage, so you won’t need to race up to the shops anytime soon!

All you have to do is rub a thin layer of car wax onto the bathroom mirror and buff it clean with a microfibre cloth. The car wax will work as an anti-fogger and keep your mirror from clouding over next time you shower — it’s absolutely brilliant!

Turns out, you can also use the wax to protect your shower screens and tiles from water spots, and it’s also useful for preventing mildew. To get started, clean your shower with your regular cleaner — dishwasher tablets and exfoliating gloves work a treat when it comes to getting rid of hard-to-clean water spots. Then apply a thin layer of car wax to the inside and outside of your shower screens and buff with a clean microfibre cloth. Just make sure you don’t get wax on the shower floor, as it could make it a slipping hazard! The best part is, you’ll only need to reapply about once a year.

If you don’t have any car wax handy, there are some other household products that can be very useful when it comes to defogging glass. Everyone knows toothpaste cleans your teeth and brightens your smile, but it can also be used to defog glass. Simply, spread a bit of toothpaste onto the mirror and wipe away with a clean cloth.
